Portugal’s Terror Threat Level Upgraded from Moderate to Significant

The Internal Security System (SSI) in Portugal has decided to increase the terrorist threat level from moderate to significant. This change is due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The decision was made in close collaboration with international and national partners. The Security Information Service (SIS), responsible for threat assessment, worked closely with these partners to gather systematic evidence regarding potential threats. Although there are no specific indications of terrorist actions within Portugal, the threat level was elevated as a preventive and cautious measure.
